6AM Race Update - GOOD MORNING MAJORS CREEK
Sat 06:00. Posted by Jacob Gome.
The sun rises on a course on which anything is still possible as shown by Bruce Div 4!
DIV 1
Griffin has hit the checkpoint at the top of the Corn Trail, surely they can’t be caught now!
Despite their earlier error, BnG are still holding onto 2nd, just ahead of Lodge and Fenner. Wamba & Burg aren’t too far away while rumour has it (according to Johns 2), Bruce deliberately took a longer route to avoid the Corn Trail. Maybe they heard the chaos from afar.
They will emerge on Quart Pot FT, not too far behind Wright who are starting to show why their route choice was so good as they continue chugging along.
DIV 2
All of our eyes are locked onto INWARD BOETS tracker. Can they succeed?? So far it doesn’t look too bad.
Along the Corn Trail, Old Fenner are in the lead, with Griffin as the first college team! Burg are hot on their heels with BnG, Johns, Ursies & Fenner all behind them.
Wright seem to have made the Wright call and are flying along Gollaribee FT. If they take Shoebridge Track, they will be in the box seat!
DIV 3
Fenner lead Bruce, Johns and Burg up the Corn Trail in what is turning into quite the footrace. YKB are a little further back having lost time due to nav errors. Wright are just entering now and Wamba have reached the checkpoint and are taking some time to recover.
BnG have gone rogue, after missing the Corn Trail, they have decided to press on through Buckenbowra towards Quart Pot FT, instead of turning around. I don’t think this will pay off but you never know…
DIV 4
Bruce has finally gotten themselves out of the Bush, and are back on track! But they have a long way to go to catch the others! Fenner has been struggling a tiny bit with the climb up the escarpment, whilst the teams that took the middle route have been blazing for first place. BnG and Griffin have seemingly taken the Shoebridge Tk, whilst Wambam continues north like most of Div 5. Shockingly, Ursies has made a beeline to the Corn Trail, much like SexyDivXy before them. I think they’ve been getting a bit of FOMO from the rest of the race, who are congregating on this perilous single track.
DIV 5
Ursies Div 5 have been moving quite well down the ShoeBridge Tk, and have inspired Burg 5 to do the same. Meanwhile the rest head up north, making a crucial choice at the fork. Its a tight race still, and DivX team “Trail Boys” are showing up the college teams. When Fenner 5 was asked if they had any words for IB-Live, they simply stated “it’s cold and windy up here”, with dull and defeated expressions.
DIV 6
The leaders of Div 6 are still on the Corn Trail, with a tight race between Ursies, Burg, Wright, and XXXX. It is anyone’s game. Further back, BnG was struggling after missing the first turnoff, but made a miracle bushbash onto the Corn Trail! Very impressive! Our Div X teams, Green Avenue, Felix and ADFA continue their path south, determined to run a higher distance!
DIV 7
Our final Div is off and running! Ursies were quick out of drop and are heading South on the Link Rd, followed by Griffin and Wamba. BnG looked initially as if they were going to take the faster northern route but now seem to be lost near the Kings Hwy, uh-oh.
All other teams are heading south. This Div is only just getting started and will be one to watch intently over the coming hours!
