The Corn Trail approaches... 🌽🌽🌽
DIV 1
Griffin continues to run. Will they make it to EP under 12 hrs, maybe, they haven’t yet faced the wrath of 🌽…
BnG are still in 2nd, having also completed the bush bash. Bruce & Lodge are negotiating this as we speak, while Johns & Wamba have crossed through Kings Hwy. Burg & Ursies are a little further back but still on the right track!
Fenner have reached Hwy Crossing 3 & Wright are through Nelligen and heading up Runnyford Rd, an old favourite for 2022 runners.
DIV 2
Our Div 2 leaders, Wright Hall, have joined Alex & I in our dislike of the Corn Trail and taken an interesting choice not foreseen by the course setters. They have taken Paradise Rd in the direction of Div 5 dropsite, seemingly with a view to follow Quart Pot FT & the Shoebridge Track in the hope of more runnable terrain. Will this pay off?
BnG, as well as Fenner and Bruce behind them seem to be sticking to the more intuitive option of Old Bolaro Rd, heading towards the Corn Trail.
Div X’s Inward BOETS are heading towards the flagged tape section, their choice to take Hwy crossing 2 seems to have slowed them down! For the northern teams, Griffin and Old Fenner continue to lead teams through the bushbash, with Johns and Ursies not far behind.
DIV 3
Again Div 3 has kept close together. Many have navigated the flagdown bushbash. Griffin seems to be the only team thus far to have struggled, and are stuck off-trail. YKB continues to lead! In the next hour, teams will approach the corn trail, and have the option to take the long route around, or take the risky (and rewarding) bushbash north of the Div 6 dropsite.
DIV 4
Teams have finally reached the second intersection for Div 4! Fenner have taken the flatter route down Knowles Rd, the BnG and Griffin opting for the hilly north option, with a narrow lead from Griff.
And a save from Wamburun! The tracker indicates they may have taken a wrong turn into an exclusion zone, but realising their mistake they have double-backed and re-adjusted. This was the correct thing to do, good job WamBam!
Meanwhile, Bruce 4 is still in BushBash purgatory. Still potentially going for the bash towards the Trig. With strong leadership in this team, I am still confident they can pull this off, good luck Bruce!
Finally, Ursies and Burg have added to the intrigue to take the North route from Drop after correcting their first mistake. This route is much easier (but longer) than what Griffin and BnG are attempting, so it’s still anyone’s game.
DIV 5
Division 5 has finally split up a bit. Whilst all the teams have stayed the course South, DivX team “Hospital Bound” (hopefully not injured) have trailed behind. Meanwhile, YKB continues to find themselves off the beaten path. They will definitely make it back on course, but will have quite a bit to make up. Otherwise, Griffin has taken the lead!
DIV 6
Dropping Soon!
