Div 5 is spicing up!

Division 5

We are now starting to see a bunch of divergence on Div 5! Apart from SexyDivXy who we already heard were taking the Corn Trail, teams have split into three different directions from junctions near the Gollaribee FT x Boundary FT water drop.

There are two main options that teams have committed to so far. On the south-west option taking the Shoebridge Track and passing through Araluen, we have Ursula, Burgmann, and Loughton's Lopers. This route is a tad shorter (by about 1.5km) and has less vert (saving 250m climb) but stores all its climb for the very end of Major's Creek Mountain Road with a wicked 400m climb in 4km.

On the north-west option along Macquarie Rd, we have Trail Boys, Bruce, UniLodge, Griffin, Fenner, VWA, and Johns.

That leaves just one team on the third choice, B&G 5. They have continued due north from the water drop along Boundary Firetrail; this route is over 4km longer than the NW route and closer to 6km longer than the SW route; it's also got 200m more vert than the SW option. Stay tuned to see how they go!

Wamburun and Yukeembruk are yet to approach the fork (with Wamburun very close), but will have to make a choice of whether to take the Shoebridge Track or not soon. Wright and Hospital Bound are also coming up to the water drop, where they will have to choose between the NW and north routes. We'll be paying close attention to see which way these teams end up going!
