Division 1Division 2

Both Division 1 and Division 2 have arrived at Wright Hall for scrutineering!

Scrutineering is the first step in a team’s Inward Bound journey. Here, teams will:

  • Have their gear checked (all runners need to carry all of the items on the compulsory gear list (https://anuinwardbound.com/runners/gear/) and cannot carry forbidden items, such as GPS devices)

  • Receive their trackers (which will allow you to follow their progress throughout the race on this website!)

  • Receive their race bibs and blindfolds

Scrutineering is an important stage of the race because it allows us to ensure that participants will be safe on course.

Following scrutineering, teams go directly into isolation where they will have to wait until Sendoff. This year, teams will isolate in the Bruce Hall dining hall. This can be a good time for teams to mentally prepare for the race ahead, but it can also be a nerve-wracking experience - tensions are high!

From scrutineering until their arrival at Endpoint tomorrow, teams are not allowed to have any contact with spectators. If you’re coming along to Sendoff this afternoon as a spectator, remember this rule - teams can be penalised for even the briefest of contact!

Thanks for following along on IB Live! We’ll provide you with plenty of updates over the weekend, as well as photos and videos from the scene of the action.
