Located on Doctors Flat Rd, ~10km north-west of Wee Jasper. Div 1 with its 45 minutes of scouting time should almost certainly identify that they need to head south, for heading north can only lead them to the Wee Jasper Gin Distillery.
From drop, the teams should navigate down to Two Sticks Rd where they can head downhill through Uriarrra State Forest/past Blue Range Campground and then into Pierces Creek end eventually onto Tidbinbilla and the Devil's Gap checkpoint. This involves significantly less vert, so I can imagine the only reason teams avoid this route is either fear of navigating through a pine forest or getting their feet we at Vanity's Crossing (hopefully no one tries to throw a show across).
Alternatively, teams can head up Two Sticks Rd to Piccadilly Circus onto Mt Franklin Rd and eventually down Stockyard Spur this is a truly I can't be bothered thinking route but contains seemingly too much pain (hills) for this navigational gain, we forecast it to be about 3 hours slower for the average team that finishes.

The predictor is now up and running!, at the start will be super volatile and likely under estimate time of arrival just after drop (over estimate eventual overall average GAP (Gradient Adjusted Pace)) as typically teams start off hot/fast (see below graph of speeds of historical IB teams) with it taking time for teams to settle in a rhythm and on a route. It also assumes optimal navving which is probably unlikely, only accounting for the terrain and distance of the optimal route ahead. This means it will also not consider other factors that may slow a team down like a trail being overgrown… Read more.

To potentially confuse the Division 1 navigators, the Course Setters have included some red-herring exclusion zones in the south part of the course, including a zone which is very cheekily listed as excluded for Divisions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (ie. everyone except Division 1).
