The question on everyone’s lips: who will be first to Endpoint?

Teams are certainly getting closer! At the moment, it looks like the first team will probably arrive at Endpoint in just under two hours. Who will it be? Let’s look at contenders in three main directions.

Currently, the race predictor has Bruce 2 arriving to Endpoint first. They’ve been moving fairly consistently and their navigation has been solid throughout the event. Assuming they follow the best route perfectly, they have 13.3 kilometres left to travel, with 516 metres of elevation gain and 472 metres of descent

Division X’s IBSC are also looking pretty good - they’ve kept a very decent pace up over the last section of the race and are moving slightly faster than Bruce 2. They have 17 kilometres to go, with 398 metres of elevation gain and 598 metres of descent.

On the other side of the map, Griffin Division 1 have the easier approach. They need to cover 15.5 kilometres with 211 metres of elevation gain (which is almost all over the next 4 kilometres) and then 525 metres of smooth descent into endpoint. The quality of the trails they will be running along will be slightly worse, though, which may slow them down a bit.
