Mikayla is the ultimate fiery ginger – tell her there’s a certain Wamba man behind her and she’ll run like the wind. Despite using first-year stem courses as an excuse not to run, we believe her mental stamina used to listen to hours of audiobooks will push her to the finish line.
This is Emma’s third IB season, yet the first she’s actually running. After floods in 2022, and her role as CC in 2023, she’s ready to take on IB. Fuelled by yoghurt and instant noodles, she’s in fighting form from croc wrangling up in Darwin. We look forward to finally seeing IB on her Strava!
Please welcome Alex Mirrlees-Black, otherwise known as "the Human GPS" or "the Route Whisperer". A seasoned IB runner, she smashed the Div 7 course in 2022, and she's back as Head Navigator. Alex loves a cheeky bushbash and yap about maths. With a ruthless competitive streak, she'll swiftly calculate her way to Endpoint.
Anish. Where to start. His Strava graph may be more triangles than actual distance, but given his commitment to seemingly every ANU club, we have no doubt he’ll make a good-enough scout. Rumour has it he doesn’t know what a powerline looks like, good luck to the rest of the team!

The predictor is now up and running!, at the start will be super volatile and likely under estimate time of arrival just after drop (over estimate eventual overall average GAP (Gradient Adjusted Pace)) as typically teams start off hot/fast (see below graph of speeds of historical IB teams) with it taking time for teams to settle in a rhythm and on a route. It also assumes optimal navving which is probably unlikely, only accounting for the terrain and distance of the optimal route ahead. This means it will also not consider other factors that may slow a team down like a trail being overgrown… Read more.
