Otherwise they have to randomly pick a direction
- If they choose east, it’ll be longer.
  - If holly did this she would double back on herself rather than complete the route
Could do a bush bash from sheas road, unnamed road (west of private property)
- Unlikely to actually pay off
Don’t go east, you’ll get blocked by a private property
West to clyde river. One of the first turns leads you down unmarked roads - would be tricky because many unmarked trails and less reliable. Best route is west to the clyde river and then south

Scout things
- Come across a bunch of road names (but they don’t exist on the map)
- Note the distinctive bend in the road just south and north. If they have a good scout map they should be able to find it easy. Trail is quite distinctive
- Near private property.
- If clear note, lights in moruya city
- If they go the wrong way, they’ll hit araluen road–should be very obvious where they are
Can go west until wandera trig and then will have to head east to maulbrooks road
Or east
- Flatter (still hilly though), harder nav, similar distances.
Both routes join at McMahon's road
Next decision is either Quart Pot Rd or Runnyford Rd - Runnyford better because less hilly and easier to Nav
- Near div 6
Holly: Very hilly start for div 2. First 15km is brutal, bad decision to go full gas.

'flat': 80.77km, 1,533m vertical gain
'hilly': 76.89km, 1810m vertical gain

If the MapMyRun data is correct, I'd be going with the flat option but that's also because I live in Darwin and there are no hills here!

Division 3/4 seems to have turned into a social fun run with most teams taking the major intended route via The River Road, many of them within hundreds of metres of each other. - Going down gully road will not be very useful as it has a distinctive shape that is hard to replicate on a scout map
Only can go east - run along bolero mtn to runnyford

- Both scouts find intersections
- An accurate scout map will mean they should know where they are pretty easy.
If they run west out of the drop point, they’ll hit massive power lines. If they keep running they’ll hit the princes highway. Very obvious.
If they head south they’re going the right way
- Dam road->link road
  - Better because flat
- Mtn road
  - Have summit durras mountain, which doesn’t make sense given they’re the same route.
- Pretty straight forward
  - Sand running to cross durras lake.
  - Head through the town of durras to access murramurang national park
People who did the 2021 Back to Bay rogaine, are at an advantage (same area)
- Griffin Div 7, for example
