Hello, my adored spectators. I'm Toby, one of your Inward Bound Communications & Media Officers this year. It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you all to this year's live coverage of the race that is Inward Bound.

Inward Bound is an incredible race. It is truly unique in its nature and unparalleled in the cult-like culture and awe that surrounds it. A huge part of that culture is the ever-growing network of ex-ressies: those people who have lived at ANU, run Inward Bound, and survived to tell the tale. It is from this group that this year's commentary team hail. 

Jacob, Con, Jack, Mirah, Hadyn, Alex, and Elentari are IB fanatics. They live and breathe the race and have more knowledge and experience than I could begin to imagine. They have been eager first-years, grizzled veterans, wise coaches, and committee members in their journey with this race. Including myself, this year's commentary team has run exactly 20 IBs, and it is from this depth of experience that comes the analysis and commentary you'll see over the next two days. 

Our job, from the comfort of our chairs, is extremely easy. The 350 runners who are heading out onto the course this weekend cannot say the same. A monumental challenge lies ahead of them and they will almost certainly emerge changed. While it's absolutely impossible to know what it's like out there without being out there, we hope to bring you insight and entertainment for another year.
