Yukeembruk 4 had a really tough start to the race. After having to backtrack a few times, in the first 4.5 hours they had only moved a net 5 kilometres down the road from Dropsite.
I wasn’t sure they’d be able to pull themselves back into the race.
If they can make it to Endpoint today, this might be the comeback story of 2024 Inward Bound.
Already, they’ve shown incredible resilience. They didn’t give up. They kept pushing themselves. And they’ve kept pace with the other Division 4 teams, even slightly closing the gap.
Now, they’re on the way down Stockmans Spur towards the Corin Dam checkpoint. This checkpoint as a cut-off time of 12:00pm. They have 50 minutes to make it down the brutal descent and through to Corin Road. Can they do it?
I think they can.
