Division 2 bush-bash: impressive, but not the most efficient?

Ursies, who have been running solo for the majority of the race, having branched away from the rest of Division 2 very early on, have reached Brandy Flat North Fire Trail ahead of Division X Team 3.
This means that, though impressive, the 2 kilometres ahead bush-bash that the Division X team pulled off in the depth of the night has not been enough to position them in the lead at this stage of the race.
Up north, it looks like the teams that chose to go west are still ahead - perhaps the bush-bash wasn’t a good idea after all.
